Aid funding Election roundup

ACFID (the Australian Council for International Development) have produced a roundup, by party or topic, and in their own words of where the major parties stand on international aid.

This is required reading in the leadup to the election.

For example compare the major parties positions on debt reduction as proposed by the ecumenical Jubilee 2000/Jubilee Australia campaign.

Reading between the lines of the Liberal position one gets the impression that they have little intention of cancelling debts, but in order to reduce their exposure in the face of rising pressure to cancel debts they are proud to be refusing to even offer loans to other countries that ask for them!
