If all goes according to plan this advert could run in the New York Times during the Republican convention in the lead-up to the US election.

Incensed by Republican requests for churches to send their membership registries to the Republican party for the purposes of campaigning and by the quotes given in the advert which use opaque theological manipulation to demand that all Christians vote for George W Bush in the upcoming election, Sojourners has begun a petition and fund-raising campaign to attempt to shift the election agenda away from right-wing hobby-horses to a broader consideration of candidates in the light of biblical principles.
