Western shift to the Right continues: Canada

The International Herald Tribune reports a victory for the Conservatives in Canada. Central to the election was Canada's relationship to the US. It seems after initially opposing the Bush government Canadians are now happy to go along to get along, especially if it boosts their economy and makes them all a little richer. The other factor of course is that the left-wing Liberal Party has been entrenched for some time and has been accused of complacency.
