Why Jesus Is Welcome In the Public Square

This Washington Post column is very interesting reading. It explains why the left has to do more than just belittle people of faith if it is going to be anything more than the stereotypical elitist intellectual minority.

It goes to Baton Rouge in Louisiana, where some of America's poorest live - the people the Left supposedly champions - and shows how religion and moral restraint are woven into the very fabric of the community there. But this is not the obnoxious, judgmental religion of the televangelists, it's just a way of life for these simple, grounded people.

But where do they fit? With the permissive Left or the pro-rich Right?
