Credit card fraud for fun

ZUG has a humorously presented and informative prank. I've had a number of those 'They never bother to check the signature' conversations but this guy gets practical and tests the boundaries, and in the US at least they seem to be pretty broad. The blurb:

"Every time you make a credit card purchase, they're supposed to match your signature against the one on the back of your card. Nobody seems to check anymore, so I tried to see how far I could push it with wacky signatures like "Mariah Carey" and "Zeus," which you can read in the original Credit Card Prank.

"The Credit Card Prank" took on a life of its own, vaulting ZUG into the national consciousness. Since then, some thirty million people have read that article -- some of them, it turns out, from the credit card companies themselves. Surely, then, they must have learned their lesson. Right?"

Both the first and second versions of the prank are quite funny. He starts small and pretty soon he's buying thousand dollar plasma screens and signing "NOT AUTHORIZED".

"...My regular signature, which looks like that of a homeless clown:

First, I decided to get a little artistic.

Then I decided to get wicked artistic."

And on it goes.
